Add booking links to your Google Business Profile
If an OTA link sits in your booking button, Google is quietly charging you 20–30% per booking on traffic you already earned. Owning that link is the highest-value fifteen minutes in this entire guide.
Who this is for: Any operator whose profile currently shows a Viator, GetYourGuide, or Tripadvisor booking button.
Why a third-party link appears without your consent
Google pulls booking links from its network of reservation partners. If your inventory sits on an OTA that is also a Google booking partner, that OTA link can appear on your profile automatically — you never approved it and you cannot delete it from the profile editor.
The fix is not to argue with the profile. The fix is to make your own booking system the preferred, connected source.
Add your own booking link
In the profile editor, open Bookings and add the direct URL to your booking engine. Point it at a real bookable page — not the homepage, not a contact form.
- Use a page where a traveller can choose a date and pay without leaving.
- Add UTM tags so you can prove the revenue in analytics.
- Keep the same URL stable — changing it resets Google's trust in the link.
Get your booking system connected properly
Booking platforms such as FareHarbor, Bokun, Rezdy, Checkfront, Peek, and Xola can feed Google directly as reservation partners. When your own system is connected, your link takes priority and the OTA link is pushed down or removed.
This is the same connection that powers the "Official Site" row inside the Google Things to Do panel.
Remove or demote unwanted OTA links
You cannot delete a partner link manually, but you can report it. Use the profile's support flow, state that the third-party link misrepresents your official booking channel, and supply your direct URL. Doing this after your own link is live works far better than doing it before.
Quick checklist
- Direct booking URL added under Bookings
- URL lands on a date-selectable, payable page
- UTM tracking in place
- Booking system connected as a Google reservation partner
- Unwanted OTA links reported after your link is live
Frequently asked questions
Why does Viator show as the booking link on my Google profile?
Because Viator is a Google reservation partner and your inventory is listed there. Adding your own connected booking link is what displaces it.
Does the booking link affect Google Things to Do?
Yes. The same connected feed that powers the booking button is what earns the Official Site row in the Things to Do panel.
