Google Things to Do: Operator Booking Module vs. POI and Experiences Module
August 25, 2026
Navigate the two distinct Google Things to Do modules, the Operator Booking Module and the POI and Experiences Module, to correctly list your tours or attraction tickets. Understand which module applies to your business to avoid integration mistakes.
If you've been digging into Google Things to Do, you've probably run into two terms that sound similar but do completely different jobs: the Operator Booking Module and the POI and Experiences Module.
Mixing these up is the reason a lot of operators and attractions waste months chasing the wrong integration.
Here's the simple version. The Operator Booking Module shows a tour company's own tours on that company's own Google Business Profile. The POI and Experiences Module shows tickets and guided activities on a landmark's Google listing, like a museum, theme park, or monument.
Same Google ecosystem. Two completely different placements. Let's break down each one.
Operator Booking Module (OBM)
This one lives on the Google Business Profile of an individual tour or activity operator.
Who it's for: direct tour operators, local guides, and activity providers who run their own tours.
What shows up: your own tours and activities, plus any third-party reseller listings (OTAs) tied to your business.
What you need: a verified physical address and an active Google Business Profile. No profile, no OBM.
POI and Experiences Module
This one lives on a general point of interest listing, the kind of page Google builds for landmarks and attractions.
Who it's for: official ticket sellers at an attraction, and outside tour operators running experiences that start at or visit that landmark.
What shows up: standard admission pricing from the venue plus OTAs (that's the Attractions piece), and guided tours or add-on experiences tied to the landmark (that's the Experiences piece).
The quick way to remember it: OBM is about you. POI and Experiences is about the place.
You're a Tourist Attraction. Here's What Actually Applies to You.
If you run a landmark, museum, theme park, or similar venue, you're working with the POI and Attractions Module, not the OBM. That module puts your official ticket prices directly on your Google listing.
What this looks like once it's live:
A Tickets button or full booking module shows up right on your Maps and Search profile.
Your direct booking link gets tagged Official Site, which matters because it's what pulls bookings away from OTAs and back to you.
Below your tickets, Google may also surface guided tours or packages from third-party operators running experiences at your venue. That's normal and expected.
How to Actually Get Your Tickets Listed
Google doesn't let you manually upload ticket pricing. There's no form to fill out. You need a booking platform that already connects to Google Things to Do, think FareHarbor, Rezdy, Peek, Viator, or GetYourGuide.
Three steps to get it working:
Use an approved connectivity partner. Your booking software has to have a live integration with Google Things to Do. If it doesn't, none of this works, no matter how good your Google Business Profile looks.
Turn the integration on. Inside your booking platform's dashboard, look for a "Google Things to Do" or "Google Integration" setting and opt in.
Match your data exactly. Your attraction's name, address, and website URL need to be identical across your booking software and your Google Business Profile. Any mismatch and Google won't link the feeds.
This is exactly where most attractions get stuck. Their booking software technically supports Google Things to Do, but the feed data going out is thin, mismatched, or incomplete, so nothing ever shows up on the listing.
That's the gap we close.
Thingstodomarketing.com is a Google Connectivity Partner. We take what's already sitting in your booking software or your OTA listings and turn it into a properly optimized feed that Google will actually surface, official tickets front and center, Official Site tag included, without you having to touch a single line of code.
